Liposuction

What is liposuction?

Liposuction is a highly effective surgical procedure designed to permanently remove stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise.

By selectively targeting and removing these fat cells, liposuction meticulously sculpts and refines your body's natural contours, helping you achieve a smoother, more proportionate silhouette.

The goal is not weight loss, but rather to enhance your natural shape and help your clothes fit better, restoring your overall confidence.

No, liposuction is not a substitute for weight loss or a treatment for obesity. It is a body contouring procedure designed specifically to remove isolated pockets of fat that haven't responded to diet and exercise.

Yes, the fat cells removed during liposuction are permanently eliminated from your body. However, if you gain weight after the procedure, the remaining fat cells in your body can expand. Maintaining a stable weight through a healthy lifestyle is key to preserving your contoured results.

The incisions made for the liposuction cannulas are very small, usually about 5 millimeters in length. We meticulously place these incisions in natural skin folds or easily hidden areas so that the resulting scars are minimal and well-concealed.

Wearing a compression garment is a critical part of your recovery. It provides targeted pressure to the treated areas, which dramatically helps minimize swelling and bruising. More importantly, it acts like a mold, helping your skin properly retract and adhere smoothly to your newly sculpted underlying contours.

Liposuction is very safe when performed by board-certified plastic surgeons, but like any surgery, it carries some risks. These may include bruising, swelling, temporary numbness, fluid accumulation (seromas), or contour irregularities such as dimpling or asymmetry. Following your post-operative instructions, particularly regarding compression garments, significantly reduces these risks.
